eMi in Trinidad

On June 18, 2004, eMiCanada dispatched a team of 6 from varying parts of Canada, spanding all spectrum of age, race, profession and height but with one heart to serve, to the Republic of Trinidad. There they spent 10 days working along side InterSchool/InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, in developing a Master Plan for a new camp facility. I was blessed enough to be one of the 6 and this is an account of what God did in my life during those days.

Father's Day in Trinidad

Harry took us to the St. Augustine Evangelical Bible Church today for service. The worship was so great, everyone was so filled with the Holy Spirit, praising and singing and dancing! Of course, with my luck though, we came during the Father's Day special service. It was filled with presentation of gifts, poems, special songs and speeches. It was quite a treat for the fathers but it is officially the longest service I've even attented. It went from 9-12. There was a lot of people at this church who just returned from Toronto!

After service, Harry took us to the IS/IVCF office to do our emails and then it was to Joe & Violet's house for lunch. They were a couple from the church. Violet volunteered to cook us our meals for the rest of the week. We had a lot of food and a lot of great conversations. After lunch, Andre and Sabrina took us on a tour of Trinidad's captial, Port of Spain. We got to see a lot of building types and great scenery. We went back to Victory Heights afterwards and went swimming! After swimming, Harry and Alfred, a church member and local engineer took us back to Trincity Mall again for dinner. We had our first team meeting there where we talked about the project and the site and questions about codes and regulations. I can't wait to see the site tomorrow so we can get crackin'!
